Maintenance Schedule
|
Maintaining your Subaru WRX is one of the most important tasks when it comes
to your new vehicle and thankfully Subaru has an extensive maintenance
schedule designed to increase the life of your Subaru WRX. Subaru recommends
having your first oil change done by 7500 miles or 7.5 months whichever
comes first, after that you can continue to have your oil changed every 7500
miles or 7.5 months whichever comes first. If you are using regular oil
rather then synthetic Subaru recommends changing your oil every 3750 miles.
While you can use regular oil Subaru does recommend filling your 2014 Subaru
WRX with full synthetic oil as it provides better performance and increases
the life of your engine. Every 30,000 miles you should have your accessory
belt inspected, engine coolant should be replaced every 137,500 miles and
while doing so you should have your cooling system, hoses, and connections
inspected more often. Every 30,000 miles you should also have your brake
fluid, and clutch fluid in manual transmission models changed. Every 7500
miles while having your oil changed it is also recommended to have your tire
rotated. It is very important to stick to the maintenance schedule that
Subaru has established because it will help your Subaru WRX to remain as
reliable as possible and live to drive day after day. Another important
thing to realize is that if you follow the Subaru maintenance schedule it
will keep you from voiding the warranty provide at the purchase of your
vehicle. The Subaru maintenance schedule can be found in your owner's manual
if you have more questions.

Oil Type and Capacity
|
Â
The Subaru WRX requires 5w-30 synthetic oil in order to achieve optimum
performance and reliability. While regular motor oil is typically used
the Subaru WRX is fitted with a turbocharger and due to the high amount
of heat that the turbo creates the Subaru WRX requires synthetic oil.
Synthetic oil not only provides better lubrication to your engine it
also increases the performance of the engine itself. Full synthetic oil
performs better and lasts longer than regular motor oil and will
increase the life of the Subaru WRX and the turbocharger found in the
engine bay.
